Steve Smith Sr. of the Baltimore Ravens hosted a youth football camp Monday at Maxwell Air Force Base. Procter & Gamble, ProCamps and Smith teamed up to serve the children of the military.
ProCamps World Wide does pro football camps for athletes around the world. Procter & Gamble runs a contest with military commissaries around the country, and the winning commissary gets a free camp by ProCamps World Wide.
The Steve Smith Sr. camp was available for free to children in military families. More than 150 children signed up for the event.
“This is something to get them out of bed, get them off the games and be active” said Smith Sr. “They get to decide if they’re going to play technology or act it out, and I think these kids said they’re going to act it out.”
This is Smith’s fourth camp of the year. He has been doing these camps for three years all over the world. He uses these camps as an opportunity to say thank you to military families. The next youth football camp will be held at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.
